Art chat at an exhibition…

What interesting conversations we had at the Private View in Broadway last week!

It’s fascinating to ‘earwig’ people discussing art, your own and other’s! This event was for the selected artists finalists in the juried Open Competition and their guests…all were opinionated in a positive way and very knowledgeable, so it was a great evening.

The mix of styles was eclectic and that made it even more exciting.

I had some lovely conversations with people about my own work, and one person that I spoke to had even selected my mixed media painting as their show favourite! Colour drew people to the work, and many asked questions about how I had achieved some of the effects. I was happy to talk about my process and materials used, but there are some effects I don’t think I could replicate! It’s the alchemy and unexpected visual texture that inspires me to paint in the first place!.

Thankyou to all at Broadway for a fascinating evening.
